Jordan's PM Inaugurates Natural Gas Stations to Boost Industrial Sector

Jordan's Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan inaugurated two natural gas stations in Al-Quweira and Aqaba Industrial Complex, aiming to reduce energy costs for industrial cities by 35% to 60%. The Al-Quweira station was built at a cost of approximately JD 8 million and has an initial operating capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day.

The government's strategy is part of a series of measures supporting Jordan's industrial sector, which has been experiencing steady export growth. The Al-Quweira Industrial City covers 1,800 dunums and was developed under a joint agreement between ASEZA, ADC, and PBI. The first phase included the completion of infrastructure works and the construction of a gas pressure measurement and reduction station connected to the Arab Gas Pipeline.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for a shore-based regasification unit with an estimated investment of nearly JD 90 million. The facility is scheduled to begin operations by the middle of next year, having a capacity of 700 million cubic feet per day as part of the development of the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah LNG Port.
