Journey Energy Inc., a Canadian energy company, has announced the sale of its Northwest Alberta assets to a private company for $28 million. The transaction includes the Ante Creek pool, the Pine Creek gas field, and minor properties in Northwest Alberta.

The deal is expected to close on September 1, 2026, with an effective date of July 1, 2026. Journey estimates that the sale will reduce its 2026 sales volumes guidance by approximately 390 boe/d (67% liquids).

The company plans to redirect the proceeds from the sale towards the development of its Duvernay light oil resource play. This move aligns with Journey's strategy of improving corporate sustainability by increasing per-boe netbacks and reducing end-of-life costs as a percentage of producing asset value.
