Kalshi Seeks CFTC Approval for Gold and Silver Perpetual Futures Trading
Kalshi, a derivatives platform, has submitted applications to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for approval to offer perpetual futures contracts based on gold and silver prices. The proposed contracts, GOLDPERP and SILVERPERP, will feature cash settlement, no expiration dates, and continuous trading access 24/7.
The price feeds for these contracts will come from Pyth Network, and there will be zero physical delivery of metals. Kalshi currently operates perpetual futures on 18 digital assets with over $8.5 billion in total volume.
This move represents the latest step in Kalshi's aggressive product expansion across digital asset perpetuals. The platform secured CFTC authorization for its Bitcoin perpetual contract in May, establishing the first U.S.-regulated instrument of its kind.
