Kanpur Temperatures Soar, Threatening Rabi Crops
Kanpur division in India is experiencing unseasonably high temperatures, which could harm Rabi crops such as wheat, mustard, and gram.
On February 24, the maximum temperature reached 29.8 degrees Celsius, a full 3.7 degrees above normal.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted bright sunshine for the area on Wednesday with temperatures expected to remain high.
Dr S Sunil Pandey warns that above-normal temperatures in late February can cause premature grain formation and smaller yields.
