Kazakhstan Aims for Higher Grain Exports to Morocco After Record Harvest

Kazakhstan is looking to increase its grain exports to Morocco after strong harvests boosted production.

A delegation from Kazakhstan led by Asylkhan Dzhuvashev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan's National Company Food Contract Corporation, met with Moroccan officials and business representatives in Casablanca at the inaugural meeting of the Kazakhstan-Morocco Business Council.

The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial sector and increasing trade in agricultural products. Dzhuvashev highlighted that Kazakh agricultural producers export to more than 80 countries, with grain exports reaching a record 15.3 million metric tons in the previous agricultural season.

Kazakhstan's wheat exports have been particularly successful, with the first consignment of food wheat shipped to Moroccan buyers in May 2025. Total grain shipments to Morocco reached 161,800 metric tons, demonstrating strong demand for Kazakh agricultural products.
