Kazakhstan Bolsters Oil Exports via BTC Pipeline Amid CPC Disruption

Kazakhstan's national oil company KazMunayGas plans to increase its oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline by 31% in 2026, reaching a total of 1.7 million metric tons.

This decision comes after the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which transports over 80% of Kazakhstan's oil, temporarily suspended operations due to Ukraine's attacks on tankers in the Black Sea.

The CPC suspension led to a significant reduction in Kazakhstan's daily oil production, with more than double the usual cut. The country produces around 2% of the world's oil, and most of it is shipped via the CPC.
