Kazakhstan Cuts Oil Output Amid Suspected Ukrainian Drone Attacks
Kazakhstan has temporarily reduced its crude oil output due to disruptions at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal. The suspension of loading operations followed suspected Ukrainian drone attacks on tankers at the Black Sea terminal on July 17, 19, and 20.
The CPC's facilities remain operational, but the energy ministry said a controlled adjustment of daily production levels was implemented to prevent storage tank congestion at oil-producing companies. This resulted in a temporary reduction in oil output.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium operates a 1,510 km pipeline connecting Kazakhstan's Caspian Sea oil deposits with Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The CPC accounts for about 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports and handles around 2% of daily global crude supply.
