Kazakhstan Oil Production Slumps in January-August 2026

Kazakhstan's oil production took a hit in the first eight months of this year. According to a report, the country produced 61.7 million tons of oil from January to August 2026, marking an 8.4% drop compared to the same period last year.

The Kazakh government noted that there is a 'gradual recovery in oil production volumes' but did not provide further details on this trend. It also emphasized that the adjusted oil production forecast for 2026 remains at 96 million tons, which is lower than the 99.6 million tons produced in 2025.

Kazakhstan's real GDP growth has been steady, reaching 4.1% over the first eight months of this year. This marks the third consecutive month that the country has maintained this level of economic growth.
