Kazakhstan Seeks to Exceed 60 Million Tons of Oil Production by August

Kazakhstan aims to produce more than 60 million tons of oil in January-August 2026, as part of efforts to restore production volumes. This goal was set during a meeting of the Economic Growth Support Headquarters, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and National Economy Minister Serik Zhumangarin.

The country's economic performance over the first seven months of this year has been reviewed, with particular attention given to the mining sector and oil production recovery. Kazakhstan produced 53.2 million tons of oil in the same period last year, which is equivalent to 91.1% of the current figure.

The manufacturing sector grew by 9% over the seven months, but metallurgy saw a decline, with the physical volume index standing at 97.3%, including 95.4% in non-ferrous metallurgy. The main reason for this was lower gold production, although output has been recovering for the second consecutive month.
