Kazakhstan Surpasses 932 Thousand Tons in Vegetable Oil Production
Kazakhstan's vegetable oil production has surged in the first 11 months of the current season, surpassing 932 thousand tons - a 21% increase from the same period last year. This growth is attributed to the expansion of oilseed acreage and the development of domestic processing capacity.
The largest gain was seen in rapeseed oil production, which rose 76% from the previous season. Meanwhile, crude sunflower oil output increased by 24%, while refined sunflower oil production rose by 5% to 156 thousand tons.
Kazakhstan's strengthening position in the global vegetable oils market has been driven by a 30% increase in oilseed planting, with over 5.179 million hectares dedicated to this purpose in 2026. The country is also expanding its exports of vegetable oils and other oilseed products, aiming to become one of the top three global exporters.
