Kazakhstan Surpasses Record Wheat Exports in First Half of 2025/26 Marketing Year

Kazakhstan's wheat exports have reached record levels in the first 10 months of the 2025/26 marketing year, according to the Grain Union of Kazakhstan. The country exported nearly 7.8 million tons of wheat in the period, up 17% from the same time last season.

The largest increases in wheat exports were recorded for Uzbekistan (up 44%), Afghanistan (up 2.65-fold), Turkey (up 27-fold), Iran (up 360-fold), and Russia (up 10.6-fold). In contrast, exports declined to Turkmenistan (down 2.2-fold to 23.5 thousand tons) and Azerbaijan (down 3.15-fold to 214.2 thousand tons).

Central Asian countries remain the main destination for Kazakhstan's wheat exports, accounting for 77.5% of total wheat exports, or nearly 6.048 million tons, in the first 10 months of the 2025/26 MY.

The Grain Union of Kazakhstan has raised its forecast for wheat exports in the 2025/26 MY by 200 thousand tons, to 8.8 million tons, as a result of these record levels.
