Kazakhstan Taps Morocco to Boost Wheat Exports Across Africa
Kazakhstan is seeking to expand its wheat exports across Africa by strengthening trade links with Morocco.
The plan was discussed at a recent meeting between officials from both countries in Casablanca, where they agreed to combine Morocco's port network with Kazakhstan's transport corridors to improve grain shipments into North and West Africa.
Asylkhan Dzhuvashev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan's national grain company Prodcorporation, highlighted Morocco's strategic importance in the plan: 'We see the Kingdom of Morocco not only as a promising market for Kazakh grain products, but also as a strategic logistics and commercial platform to expand our presence in the North and West African markets.'
Kazakhstan's wheat exports to Africa remain limited, with trade data showing that the country exported around $108 million worth of wheat to the continent in 2025.
