Kenai LNG Advances as Harvest Midstream Seeks to Meet Southcentral Alaska's Growing Gas Needs

Harvest Midstream is advancing Kenai LNG as a necessary solution for Southcentral Alaska's anticipated natural gas needs. The company has built a track record of turning ideas into infrastructure and continues to support new North Slope production, delivering natural gas to Interior Alaska.

The North Slope LNG facility near Deadhorse represents the first commercial delivery of North Slope gas, supplying the Interior Gas Utility. This project is expected to significantly improve local air quality by up to 2000 tons per year and reduce emissions, including particulate matter.

Harvest continues to work towards a final investment decision for Kenai LNG, positioning it to begin receiving LNG as early as 2029. The company's focus on practical projects that solve real energy challenges is guiding their work at Kenai LNG, aiming to put existing infrastructure back to work for Alaskans.

Kenai LNG has the flexibility to scale up to meet all Southcentral's natural gas needs as other energy infrastructure projects are evaluated. In the near term, LNG imports are expected to be an important part of the energy mix needed to reliably heat homes and keep the lights on while longer-term solutions are advanced.
