Keybanc Raises Price Targets for Oil Producers Amid Market Shifts
Keybanc has raised its price targets for several oil and gas exploration and production companies. The firm cited changes in physical markets and commodity price outlooks as justification for the increases. Keybanc increased its target prices for ConocoPhillips to $18, Occidental Petroleum to $73, Devon Energy to $47, Continental Resources to $28, Pioneer Natural Resources to $46, and Apache Corporation to $23.
The firm revised its commodity outlook, forecasting higher oil prices due to intensifying regional conflict in Iran and accelerating oil imports from China. Keybanc noted that summer heat failed to normalize natural gas inventory levels, but improved pipeline capacity out of the Permian Basin may lead to oversupply by year-end 2026.
The updated price targets reflect the new commodity price assumptions. Keybanc maintains a positive view on Matador Resources, SM Energy, and Talos Energy among oil-focused exploration and production companies.
