Kharg Island Remains Key Target in Ongoing Conflict

Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, remains untouched in the ongoing war despite being considered a critical economic weak point for Iran. The island handles around 90% of Iran's crude oil exports, mainly to China.

With its facilities capable of handling up to 7 million barrels of oil per day, destroying or disabling Kharg Island would deal a devastating blow to the Iranian economy.

Despite past attacks on the island during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s and recent calls for its destruction from Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid, it has so far remained unscathed.
