Khor Mor Field Gas Supplies Reach Iraqi Power Grid
Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have started supplying natural gas from their Khor Mor field in the Kurdistan Region to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity. The agreement, signed last December, requires them to supply 100 MMscf/d of gas for a year to Kirkuk power station.
This will support local electricity generation and improve power services in the country. According to Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum, the Khor Mor gas project provides fuel for more than 80% of the KRI's electricity generation, enabling affordable power for over 8 million Iraqis.
The companies invested over $4 billion in the project's infrastructure and daily operations, creating more than 47,000 direct and indirect jobs. With the increased capacity from the KM250 expansion, which was commissioned in October 2025, they aim to open new markets and deliver gas by pipeline from Khor Mor.
