Kino Aski LNG Partners with Naftogaz Group on Canadian LNG Supply
Kino Aski LNG and Naftogaz Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation on supplying low-carbon Canadian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to European markets.
The agreement establishes a framework for the two organizations to assess potential supplies of Canadian LNG to Naftogaz Group from the proposed Kino Aski LNG Terminal. They will work together to evaluate potential demand, supply volumes, and delivery options in Europe.
Kino Aski LNG is being developed under First Nations leadership, aiming to create long-term economic benefits for participating communities in Quebec and Ontario while advancing an approach based on respect for Indigenous territories, environmental protection, and collaboration with affected communities.
For Naftogaz Group, this partnership represents an opportunity to assess the possibility of adding Canadian LNG to its supply portfolio. The company's Acting CEO, Sergii Fedorenko, stated that cooperation with Kino Aski LNG will allow them 'to assess the possibility of adding Canadian LNG to our supply portfolio.'
