Kinross Gold Sees 29% Earnings Boost on Higher Gold Prices
Kinross Gold Corporation has reported an increase in its second-quarter earnings to $844 million due to higher gold prices. The company's revenue from metal sales rose by 29% year-over-year, reaching $2.238 billion. Kinross' production cost of sales also increased by 19% over the same period, totaling $674.7 million.
The rise in earnings was driven by a significant increase in gold prices, which boosted the company's revenue. However, the increase in production costs and other expenses offset some of this gain.
Kinross' management emphasized that the company is focused on managing risks associated with its business operations, including commodity price volatility and currency exchange rate fluctuations.
