KP Approves Daily Wheat Quota, Sets Flour Price Amid Transparency Push

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the release of 2,000 metric tons of wheat per day for operational flour mills in the province. This move aims to ensure a stable supply of subsidized wheat across the province.

Under the new quota system, flour mills will receive wheat at Rs. 11,200 per 100 kilograms. The ex-mill price of a 20kg flour bag has been fixed at Rs. 2,500, while the official retail price will be Rs. 2,520.

The provincial Food Department has also directed all operational flour mills to install CCTV surveillance systems, with instructions to retain at least 30 days of video recordings. This move is aimed at improving transparency and preventing misuse of subsidized wheat.
