The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released 21,319 metric tons of wheat to stabilize flour prices in the province. The move aims to ensure the uninterrupted supply of affordable and quality flour across KP.

According to Dr. Muhammad Israr Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Food, the government is taking practical steps to guarantee that consumers receive flour at the officially notified price of Rs2,520 per 20-kilogram bag. The wheat was released from government warehouses to functional flour mills across the province.

The KP Food Department has been monitoring the wheat release and flour distribution process closely, with a team conducting joint inspections of flour mills in Peshawar. One mill had its government wheat quota cancelled due to non-compliance with prescribed standards and regulatory requirements.
