KP Government Steps In to Stabilize Flour Prices
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated 2,000 metric tons of wheat daily to operational flour mills in the province for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This move aims to stabilize flour supply and prices across the region.
According to official documents, the provincial government will supply wheat to operational flour mills at Rs11,200 per 100 kgs, inclusive of gunny bags. The allocation has been made based on each district's population, with Peshawar receiving the highest daily quota of 218 metric tons.
The Directorate of Food has issued formal instructions to implement this decision and distribute the wheat quota accordingly. Flour mills receiving government wheat must ensure that the flour produced does not contain a moisture content exceeding 13.5 percent.
