KSH International Expands Operations with New Copper Rod Facility in Pune
KSH International is expanding its operations by launching a new copper rod facility in Pune. The company, which operates on a pass-through pricing model, has been dependent on third-party suppliers for its copper rod requirements. However, with this new facility, KSH will be able to recycle its process scrap and reduce its dependency on external suppliers.
The 5,000 MTPA (metric ton per annum) facility in Pune is expected to boost the company's margins and insulate it from global raw material price volatility. According to the company's disclosures, its annualized manufacturing capacity stood at 43,445 MTs as of March 31, 2026.
KSH's focus on backward integration through upcast copper rod casting allows it to differentiate from unintegrated peers and improve localized supply chains for heavy electrical equipment. This strategy is expected to add ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 per tonne to EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization), reducing raw material price volatility and improving overall operating margins.
