Kurdistan Oil Production Resumes to Pre-Attack Levels
Oil production in the Kurdistan Region has resumed to between 200,000 and 250,000 barrels per day, according to acting Natural Resources Minister Kamal Mohammed. All oil fields have restarted except for Sarsang, which remains shut after drone and missile attacks in March. The field was damaged by outlawed groups operating from elsewhere in Iraq, the KRG blamed.
About 50,000 barrels a day are sent to the domestic market, while the rest is combined with Kirkuk crude and piped to Ceyhan. This represents a substantial share of Iraq's current exports, which reached about 526,000 barrels per day in May and June.
