Kuwait Oil Production Sees Faster Recovery After Strait of Hormuz Reopens
Kuwait's oil production could recover faster than anticipated after the Strait of Hormuz reopens. According to Kuwait Petroleum Company's managing director for international marketing, Shaikh Khaled Ahmad Al-Sabah, nearly 70% of the country's oil production could be restored within six to eight weeks.
This timeline is shorter than some forecasts, with ADNOC's executive vice president for sales and trading Philippe Khoury predicting full transits through the strait could take until mid-2027 to recover to pre-war levels.
The remaining 30% of Kuwait's oil production would likely take another month to recover. Al-Sabah also stated that KPC's refinery output could return to normal levels in around two to three weeks, with a capacity of about 1.4 million barrels per day.
