LA County Gas Prices Hit New High as War-Driven Fuel Costs Continue

The price of gasoline in Southern California has continued to rise, with the average cost of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County reaching a new high. According to figures from AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price rose by 2.6 cents on Saturday to $5.883 per gallon, its highest amount since June 8.

This marks the 18th consecutive day that gas prices have increased in LA County. The average price is also up 14.8 cents from last week and 18.8 cents from a month ago. Compared to this time last year, it's $1.239 more expensive.

The price hike can be attributed to the ongoing joint U.S./Israel war on Iran, which began on February 28. Since then, oil prices have surged, leading to an acceleration in gas pump increases.
