Labor Day Travelers Face Record-High Gas Prices

Record-high gas prices are expected to strain holiday travelers ahead of Labor Day this year. According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gasoline has reached $4.14, a 31-cent increase from the previous record of $3.83 set in 2012.

This is particularly concerning given that gas prices typically drop during this time due to lower demand, but crude oil prices have remained high at around $90 per barrel this week.

For those traveling for Labor Day, the increased costs are taking a toll. Mitch McLain, who was filling up his tank on Thursday in Seminole County, said it's been 'frustrating' paying higher prices at the pump over the last several months.
