Lagos Unveils Integrated Energy Hub for Sustainable Transportation
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned an integrated energy hub in Oshodi, a major milestone in the state's transition to sustainable transportation. The facility combines petrol, diesel, and compressed natural gas (CNG) with electric vehicle charging infrastructure and a vehicle conversion centre.
The hub was developed through a partnership between IBILE Oil and Gas Corporation (IOGC) and NIPCO Plc. According to Sanwo-Olu, the project represents a strategic investment in Lagos' clean energy future, making cleaner and more affordable energy accessible to commuters, transport operators, and businesses.
He added that integrating multiple energy solutions at a single facility would support Nigeria's ongoing energy transition and improve energy security. The governor commended NIPCO Plc for their vision and investment, noting that Lagos is moving beyond policy commitments by implementing practical initiatives that support sustainable mobility and economic growth.
