LDC Gas Forum Mid-Continent Attracts Over Four Hundred Industry Professionals to Discuss U.S. Mid-Continent Natural Gas Markets
The LDC Gas Forum Mid-Continent conference took place in Chicago, IL from September 14 to 16, 2026. Over four hundred industry professionals gathered to examine insights into U.S. Mid-Continent markets and structure transactions for buying, selling, and transporting natural gas.
The event focused on critical issues facing natural gas and LNG market stakeholders across the value chain, including worldwide geopolitical events impacting U.S. and global natural gas and LNG markets. Key themes included demand for reliable/non-intermittent electricity from natural gas-fired power generation, gas/electric coordination challenges, accelerating development of midstream infrastructure, evolving gas supply flow patterns, and impact of exports competing for supply from production regions traditionally serving U.S. Mid-Continent markets.
The program consisted of 2.5 days of presentations and moderated panels providing topical content, insight, analysis, and takeaways from industry leaders and subject matter experts. Keynote addresses were given by James Pearson, Senior Analyst Gas Fundamentals at ConocoPhillips, David Doyle, Head of Economics at Macquarie Group, and Wendall Dallas, President & CEO at Nicor Gas.
The event also featured five moderated panel discussions on timely topics, including a special all-women panel entitled 'Beyond the Seat at the Table: Influence, Impact & Opportunity', which examined how female leaders are influencing critical decisions and creating opportunities for future leaders. Multiple sessions of dedicated time for networking facilitated discussion among attendees.
