Lebanon Condemns Attack on Saudi Oil Pipeline Targeted by Drones from Iraq

Lebanon's Foreign Ministry has condemned an attack on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, which was targeted by drones launched from Iraq. The attack caused injuries and material damage to the pipeline, operated by Saudi Aramco.

The pipeline is a key route for Saudi oil exports, particularly in light of the recent closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted energy shipments. The Energy Ministry said the shutdown was a precautionary measure, with specialized teams working to secure the pipeline and assess its safety.

Lebanon's Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and welcomed Iraq's decision to launch an investigation into the attack. The ministry also reiterated that confronting military activities carried out by nonstate actors is a 'shared and ongoing struggle' aimed at enabling countries like Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen to exercise their authority and sovereignty over their territories.
