Levante LNG Vessel Launched to Reduce Maritime Emissions in Spain

Spanish energy firm Enagás has taken another step towards reducing maritime emissions through its subsidiary Scale Gas. The company, along with Peninsula, launched a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel called Levante LNG in South Korea's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard this week.

The 12,500 cubic meter vessel is expected to enter service in the third quarter of this year and will be flagged in Spain. It's part of the CORE LNGHive2 program, which aims to decarbonize maritime transport through LNG bunkering vessels.

The project is co-financed by the European Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), highlighting the growing importance of sustainable transportation options in the region.
