Libya's Energy Appetite Soars: 1 Billion Cubic Feet of Gas in a Day

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) released data on Libya's energy consumption over the past 24 hours, revealing some staggering numbers.

According to the statistics, Libya consumed a massive 1.082 billion cubic feet of natural gas during this period, with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) accounting for nearly 85% of that total at 917.19 million cubic feet.

In addition to natural gas, GECOL also used 16,617 barrels of crude oil and 9,009 metric tonnes of diesel to operate its electricity generation plants.
