LithiumBank Converts Alberta Well to Licensed Brine Production
LithiumBank Resources Corp., a lithium-focused company, has achieved a significant milestone in its Boardwalk Lithium Brine Project in Alberta. The company announced that it has successfully converted the 10-06 well to a licensed brine production well under Alberta's Mineral Resource Development Act.
The re-designation of the 10-06 well allows LithiumBank to extract lithium-bearing brine directly from the Devonian Leduc formation. This conversion is part of the company's brownfield development strategy, which involves repurposing existing oilfield infrastructure to reduce capital expenditure and accelerate development timelines.
According to LithiumBank, converting legacy oil and gas assets reduces upfront capital expenditures, lowers surface disturbance, and accelerates development timelines. The company has already collected bulk brine from the 10-06 well for long-cycle Direct Lithium Extraction testing and process optimisation.
