LithiumBank Converts Oil Well to Low-Cost Lithium Brine Production in Alberta
LithiumBank Resources has made significant progress in its Boardwalk project in Alberta by converting an oil well into a lithium brine production well. The company leveraged existing infrastructure to reduce costs, environmental impact, and speed up development towards commercial lithium production using Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology.
The conversion of the 10-6 well has allowed LithiumBank to extract lithium brine and conduct ongoing reservoir monitoring to support feasibility studies. By repurposing legacy assets and partnering with SLB for DLE technology deployment, the company aims to scale up production efficiently.
