LNG Carrier Stranded After US Escort in Strait of Hormuz
A Qatar-flagged liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier has been stopped in the Strait of Hormuz, after being targeted while attempting to pass through under U.S. escort.
The incident occurred on July 31, when the vessel was attempting to transit the southern route of the strategic waterway.
According to satellite tracking data, the Qatari LNG vessel has dropped anchor and halted in Omani waters, within the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
