LNG Demand Hits Ceiling at $3 for Natural Gas
Natural gas prices are testing $3 as liquefied natural gas (LNG) demand meets production ceilings, according to analysts. The late summer heat has been supporting air-conditioning demand, with exports reaching 17-18 billion cubic feet per day in the first half of the year, a 23% increase from last year due to new export capacity coming online.
However, high US gas output and comfortable storage levels are preventing the domestic market from fully pushing up prices. This has created a 'wiggle' at the $3 level that is causing some concern for traders.
Despite this, analysts are starting to become more bullish on natural gas due to the strong LNG demand. While there may be some short-term volatility, the long-term outlook remains positive.
