LNG Supply Rises, Easing Gas Shortage in Bangladesh
Bangladesh's liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply has begun to increase gradually after repairs were completed at one of its floating terminals, easing a gas shortage that had been affecting households, transportation, and industries.
The newly repaired terminal is now supplying 200 million cubic feet of gas per day, with output expected to exceed 300 million cubic feet by evening, according to Engineer K.M. Zahidul Islam, an official of the LNG division of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited (RPGCL).
The disruption in supply had reduced gas flow through the national transmission line to 2,100 million cubic feet per day, causing widespread hardship.
