Bangladesh's gas supply situation has improved significantly after the partial resumption of Excelerate Energy's floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at around 1:45am on August 14. The terminal had been shut down temporarily due to a terminal trip on Friday, but was able to resolve issues and avoid a planned 72-hour shutdown.

The improvement in gas supply has taken total national gas supply to 2,438 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd), the highest level since the Excelerate Energy FSRU incident on July 21. LNG supply rose to 828 mmcfd at 6pm today, with Excelerate Energy's FSRU supplying more than 300 mmcfd and Summit's FSRU around 510 mmcfd.

Domestic gas production and supply stood at 1,610 mmcfd, bringing the total national gas supply to 2,438 mmcfd. The power sector received the highest allocation of 931 mmcfd of gas to support electricity generation and reduce load shedding.
