LNG Tanker Attacked in Strait of Hormuz Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
A liquefied natural gas tanker was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, sparking concerns about disruption to global fuel deliveries.
The Gaslog Shanghai LNG tanker picked up an LNG shipment from Qatar on July 27 and stopped transmitting a signal on July 31 near the western entrance of the waterway, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg and Kpler.
No environmental impact has been reported so far, but this incident threatens to further disrupt deliveries of super-chilled fuel through the crucial waterway.
