The Canadian dollar has seen a boost in value, rising above the 72 US cent mark on Friday morning.
This change comes as the loonie reached $0.7203 or $1=C$1.3883 at 8:35 am CDT, compared to Thursday's close of $0.7175 or $1=C$1.3938.
In contrast, crude oil prices were relatively stable, with Brent crude oil down $0.10 at $86.97 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate adding $0.04 at $81.29/barrel.
