Mahama Era Sees Ghana's Gold Reserves Soar by $4.9 Billion
Ghana's gold reserves have significantly increased under President John Dramani Mahama's administration, according to Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).
The reserves rose from US$8.9 billion to US$13.8 billion, a US$4.9 billion increase.
Gyamfi attributed this growth to government measures aimed at strengthening the gold sector and increasing local refining, allowing Ghana to retain more of its economic value.
