Malaysia Assures Stable Fuel Supply Until September Amid Energy Crisis
The Malaysian government has assured stable fuel supply until September amid the global energy crisis. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, made this statement at a National Economic Action Council meeting.
Azalina said that Petronas Dagangan Bhd, a publicly listed subsidiary of Petronas, covers about 50% of the country's domestic fuel needs. The company is working to ensure sufficient fuel supply and coordinate government efforts to deal with the crisis.
The Crisis Management Task Force under NEAC constantly monitors fuel and energy supply for the country, ensuring security in the coming months. Efforts are being made to obtain crude oil supplies from exporters other than West Asia, such as West Africa and the Americas.
