Malaysia Assures Sufficient Fuel Supply Until September
The Malaysian government has assured that there will be sufficient fuel supply at PETRONAS stations across the country until September, according to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
Azalina made this announcement during a recent meeting of the National Economic Action Council (NEAC), where she stated that the current fuel supply network covers around 50% of the country's domestic fuel needs, which are supplied by PETRONAS through its subsidiary Petronas Dagangan Bhd.
The government is taking steps to ensure energy security amid rising global prices and domestic consumption. Azalina mentioned that efforts are being made to obtain crude oil supplies from exporters other than West Asia, such as West Africa and the Americas, subject to suitable crude oil grades and commercial terms.
