Malaysian Rubber Market Set to Rise on Strong Demand and Supply Constraints

The Malaysian rubber market is expected to trade higher this week due to strong demand and concerns over supply constraints. According to the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (Margma), demand for premium and sustainably sourced natural rubber is increasing, particularly in China, where additional fiscal policy measures are being implemented to support economic growth.

Demand for Malaysian glove manufacturers' products is also expected to rise as they place greater emphasis on traceability and sustainability under the European Union Deforestation Regulation requirements. This trend could lead to stronger prices for natural rubber.

El Nino concerns may disrupt rubber production and constrain supply across major producing countries, further supporting higher prices. Industry expert Denis Low notes that restocking demand from China and firmer crude oil prices could provide upward momentum if buying volumes are substantial.
