Malaysian Rubber Market to Bounce Higher on Strong Demand

The Malaysian rubber market is expected to trade higher this week due to strong demand and concerns over supply constraints. The Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (Margma) has reported that demand for premium and sustainably sourced natural rubber will increase, particularly in China.

This demand is driven by China's pledge of additional fiscal policy measures to support economic growth, as well as the European Union Deforestation Regulation requirements, which are placing greater emphasis on traceability and sustainability. Additionally, El Nino concerns may disrupt rubber production and constrain supply across major producing countries.

Industry expert Denis Low believes that the Malaysian rubber market will trend slightly higher next week due to potential restocking demand from China and firmer crude oil prices. He notes that reports of sizeable dry rubber replenishment in China could provide upward momentum, while higher oil prices may lend support to natural rubber prices.
