Malaysia's Budget 2027 to Tackle Cost-of-Living Issues Amid Global Uncertainty
The Malaysian government has announced that its upcoming Budget 2027 will focus on addressing the country's cost-of-living pressures. According to Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, who is also MADANI Government spokesman, the budget preparations will take into account various external factors, including global geopolitical situations and crude oil prices.
Fahmi stated that Budget 2027 will prioritize projects capable of resolving people's problems in the shortest possible time. This includes efforts to attract more domestic and international investment and support the implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan.
The Communications Ministry, led by Fahmi, is also prioritizing expanding internet access in remote areas and addressing media sustainability issues. The ministry is considering incentives such as CIME (Concerts and Events in Malaysia Incentive) and FIMI (Filming in Malaysia Incentive) to attract more investors to Malaysia.
