Malaysia's Palm Oil Stocks Soar to Five-Month High on Rising Output
Malaysia's palm oil stocks reached their highest level in five months in July, driven by rising production. According to data from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, inventories rose 3.32% from June to 2.63 million metric tons.
This is the second consecutive monthly increase in output, with crude palm oil production gaining 9.41% from June to 1.79 million tons. Exports also surged 14.5% to 1.39 million tons.
Analysts say the rising stocks could weigh on benchmark Malaysian futures, which are already near a 15-week high hit last month. However, some experts believe the impact may be limited due to factors such as Indonesia's implementation of B50 and concerns over production from El Niño.
