Manitoba Premier Floats Multi-Billion Dollar Offshore LNG Terminal
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has proposed an ambitious $80 billion project to build an offshore liquefied natural gas terminal at Churchill. The Port of Churchill expansion would also include a $70 billion cost for infrastructure development.
The plan is part of the province's effort to revive the struggling Port of Churchill, which was severely impacted by flooding and rail disruptions in 2018. Kinew aims to pitch the project to investors worldwide, hoping to attract significant funding for the massive undertaking.
