Matador Q2 Earnings Surpass Expectations with Record Oil Production

Matador Resources (NYSE: MTDR) reported strong second-quarter results, exceeding its quarterly production guidance despite operational challenges. The company's average daily production reached a record 215,631 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOE/d), up 3% year over year.

The growth was driven by better-than-expected performance from new wells, including 13 wells on the Guss pad with Matador's first 3.4-mile laterals. Record oil production and $303.2 million of adjusted free cash flow outweighed the impact of negative Waha gas prices and third-party maintenance.

Matador also reported a significant increase in its proved oil and gas reserves, up 5% from 667 million BOE at the end of 2025 to a record 703 million BOE as of June 30, 2026. The company's midstream segment generated combined quarterly net income of $57.9 million and adjusted EBITDA of $89.9 million.
