McEwen Inc. Posts Strong Q2 Earnings as Gold Prices Climb Above $4,300
McEwen Inc., owner of several producing mines and development projects across Canada, the United States, and Argentina, posted strong second-quarter earnings. The company's revenue rose by 27 percent to $59.2 million, while net income increased to $9.6 million, or $0.16 per share.
The improved results were driven by higher realized gold prices, which have remained near elevated levels above $4,300 per ounce. This is supported by weaker U.S. labor data and shifting Federal Reserve expectations.
McEwen's exploration spending increased during the quarter, with new discoveries made at Grey Fox and Tartan. The company extended the mine life of its Stock Mine to 8.5 years, with commercial production expected in 2027.
