MCX Gold and Silver Prices Surge Amid Festive Demand and Geopolitical Tensions
The price of gold and silver on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose on September 8, 2026. Gold reached Rs 1,53,461 per 10 grams, while December silver contracts rose to near Rs 2,40,615 per kg.
This uptick is driven by two factors: strong festive season spot demand in India and safe-haven buying due to West Asia geopolitical tensions.
Investors are balancing these concerns with domestic buying patterns. The approaching Indian festive season has led to increased purchases by consumers and jewellers, while ongoing geopolitical tensions have pushed investors toward safe-haven assets.
